SaberTaskv1.42.0
Offline mobile mode, worker checklists, shift notifications & US formats
This release brings a fully offline-capable mobile experience for field workers, reusable worker checklists, new shift-based notifications, and region-friendly display settings for numbers, dates, times and units.
New
- Work offline on mobile: Field workers can now open, complete and finalize their day without a connection. The app keeps a local copy of tasks and shifts, queues every change with the exact time it was tapped, and replays it in order once back online — check-ins, checkpoint scans, notes, photos, signatures, manual time and clock-in/out are all covered. An offline banner, pending-change count, "Last updated" time and "Waiting to upload" photo badges keep workers informed.
- Instant task screens & office-edit awareness: Because tasks are stored on the phone, task screens open instantly, and a background check keeps them in step with office changes — updated tasks are flagged "Updated by the office" and reassigned tasks drop off automatically.
- Worker checklists: Create reusable checklist templates in Settings and attach them to locations, service agreements or individual tasks, with the ability to hide specific items per task or agreement. Workers complete checklists inline on the mobile task detail with progress bars, Before/After photo slots and reference photos, fully supported offline. The web task view shows completed answers and flags any missing required items.
- Shift start/end notifications: A new notification rule type lets admins get a push and email whenever an employee in a chosen department clocks in or out, sent to selected roles or named people.
- Regional display settings for US and other customers: Business settings now let you choose number format (e.g. 1,000.00), date format (MM/DD/YYYY), 12- or 24-hour time, and whether the week starts on Monday or Sunday. The Measurement System setting now converts all distances, speeds and areas between metric and imperial (mi/ft/mph/ft²). Existing tenants keep their current behaviour by default.
Improved
- Emails, notification texts, and quality-report and work-description PDFs now follow your chosen date, time and number formats.
- Photos taken in the mobile app are compressed automatically (and HEIC images converted) so they upload faster and can never be duplicated on retry.
Fixed
- Fixed customer-dashboard calendar headers being mislabelled on days other than Monday.
- Fixed the template week list showing the wrong year around New Year.
- Fixed the shift overview showing incorrect dates on Sundays.
- Removed spurious console errors on route and task popups when a request returned no data.
