Free-drive navigation, GPS reliability overhaul, and dashboard route fixes

This release brings a redesigned route navigation experience for field workers, major improvements to GPS tracking reliability, and fixes that keep drivers moving and the planning dashboard responsive.

New

  • Free-drive route navigation: the mobile navigation screen now draws the planned route in blue and paints the parts you've driven in green, without ever routing you back to missed points. The screen also stays awake while navigation is open.
  • Live task drawings on mobile: tasks with route drawings now show an inline live map with the shapes and your recorded GPS trail, expandable to full screen with a new locate-me button. Completed routes show a read-only "Completed today" summary with coverage percentage instead of a re-drive prompt.
  • Location status visibility: planners now see a clear indicator in the team progress view and shift cards when a worker had location turned off for the day.
  • Update reminder: the mobile app can now prompt workers to update to the latest supported version so everyone stays on a compatible build.

Improved

  • Faster, more reliable team route popup: the dashboard's team route view now loads dependably instead of timing out, and GPS trails are streamlined so maps render quickly without losing accuracy.
  • Offline tracking resilience: location updates captured while offline are now queued and reliably sent once you're back online, and stalled tracking sessions recover automatically.
  • More honest Live Activity: tracking status now reflects reality more accurately, clearly showing when tracking has stopped and prompting you to reopen the app to resume.
  • Clearer location permission prompts: workers now see an in-context explanation before background-location requests, a re-ask at task check-in, a shortcut to open Settings after a denial, and a home-screen banner if Always-on location is later turned off.
  • Steadier sign-in: the app no longer logs workers out due to temporary network hiccups or cold starts — only genuine authentication failures sign you out.

Fixed

  • Drivers no longer blocked after a route change: if the office deletes or moves a route while a driver is navigating, the driver can now start a new route without hitting a "Failed to start navigation" error for the rest of the day.
  • Clearer navigation messages: when a route really is already in progress, the app now shows a specific "already active" message instead of a generic error.
